Italy offers seasonal agricultural work mainly in fruit and vegetable harvesting. These jobs are legal, regulated, and tied to immigration rules. Whether you can apply depends entirely on your residence status.

Who Can Apply

Eligible Applicants

  • People already living in Italy
  • Holders of a valid residence permit (work, asylum, family, humanitarian, etc.)
  • Legally allowed to work in Italy

These applicants do not need a new visa and can directly apply for jobs.

Not Eligible Directly

  • People outside Italy without a residence permit
  • These platforms do not provide visas or residence permits

Foreign workers outside Italy must apply through Decreto Flussi with employer sponsorship.

How to Apply for a Seasonal Work Visa (Outside Italy)

For applicants outside Italy, the process is employer-based:

  1. Italy opens quotas under Decreto Flussi
  2. An Italian employer applies for Nulla Osta
  3. Applicant applies for a Seasonal Work Visa at an Italian embassy
  4. After arrival, apply for a seasonal residence permit

Without Decreto Flussi approval, no visa is possible.

Duration of Seasonal Agricultural Work

  • Maximum duration: up to 9 months
  • Valid only for seasonal agricultural activities
  • Permit expires automatically at season end
